Meet Flo

Florence, or Flo, combines the expertise of healthcare professionals with the convenience of your own mobile phone. Florence sends text reminders to you, and prompts you to check your blood pressure.

Once you have taken your blood pressure, you can text the readings to Florence.

The program will collate all the information the you provide and can be accessed by the clinicians here at Asplands at any stage of the process.

Flo can also send you advice to act on, or ask health related questions and give health promotion messages.

This is all done via text messaging system and is completely free of charge.

What we are using Florence for and why

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition when the pressure in your blood vessels is unusually high. High blood pressure does not usually have any symptoms, the only way to find out if you have it is to get your blood pressure checked.

Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many will not realise it and if untreated, it increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.

We want to utilise Florenece to identifiy our patients who could be hypertensive but do not know it.

Once those who have high blood pressure are identified we can look at the interventions need to lower their blood pressure.

Arthur Ellis' Mission

Across the UK over 110,000 children are unable to access support at all with those who do waiting months if not years for meaningful input and with self-harm and child suicide rising exponentially, access to services just like Aruthr Ellis are essential.

Mental health awareness is doing really well with helping us talk more about our difficulties but without easy access to practical steps we can take or qualified people to support us, we can be left to fend for ourselves.

As a Social Enterprise, any profit we make goes back into driving our 1:1 service forward ensuring that we don’t turn anyone away and people can see someone within two days of referral. We believe that this is how mental health support should be.
