The table below shows the latest patient survey results for our practice with a comparison with all other practices in Bedfordshire PCT. We are pleased that for the majority of questions we are either at the same level or above average.
The areas where we would like to improve our performance are:
- Patients being able to get through on the phone – in the last few years we have made available other ways of patients contacting the surgery i.e. through our website and by fax so that the lines can be freed up as much as possible.
- Waiting time at Surgery – we are aware that at times patients do wait for sometime to be called for their appointment. We have looked at this in detail and will be implementing some strategies to reduce this wait. On some occasions the wait is due to a doctor having to make an emergency visit or deal with something unexpected in the surgery. We do ask our receptionists to inform the patients of any delays.
- Additional opening times – the most popular times requested by patients were after 6.30 pm and Saturday mornings. Since September 2008 we have opened until 8 pm on a Friday night and from 8 am until 12 noon on a Saturday morning. This is for pre-booked appointments only.
- Out of Hours Service – the results for this question were very poor and now that we have negotiated a change of out of hours provider to Milton Keynes Urgent Care Services which commenced October 1st 2009, we hope that our patients will see an improvement in the service available.
